| Introduction |
- PC Client is started automatically when the
machine boots. It then connects to the server to get its configuration
settings.
- All PC Client configuration
is done on the
- PC Server machine, there are no
configuration settings that can be done on the PC
Client.
- When PC Client is unable to connect to PC
Server it will attempt to connect to the PC Server every three minutes.
- When Boot Up Policy is enabled, your AUP is
displayed every time on boot up or when a user logs in. If the user accepts
the policy then they are granted the right to use the machine. If the
user declines your AUP, that Windows session will be terminated. In either
case a log entry will be sent to the PC Server.
- Your AUP will be displayed upon execution of
all applications listed in the Policy Application List. The list is
defined in PC Server by the system administrator.
- If a user fails to login In and the
"Disallow Policy Applications for Unlogged Users" is enabled, then
those applications in the Policy Application List will not be functional.
- If a violation is detected, a screen capture
of the violation is taken and sent to PC Server with date, time, application
and the trigger word.
- The PC Client can be configured for a time
delay between violation captures. This feature helps the repetitive storage
of the same violation. (default is set to 10 seconds)
- The PC Client can be configured to store up
to 500 screen captures per user (default is set to 50). Once a user
surpasses their limit, the oldest capture is discarded and the newest
capture is stored. Captures are also discarded if the free disk space of the
machine PC Server is on falls below 100MB.
- The PC Client can only be disabled through
the PC Server machine. The administrator can set a
time limit for PC Client to be
disabled. Once the time limit expires, PC
Client reactivates to the defined
profile.
-
PC Client can only be closed if special rights for closing
PCClient are set by the system administrator. The next time the
system is reboot, PC Client will be reactivated or click on
the "Start/Programs/PCClient/"PCClient" menu item.
- PC Client can only be uninstalled by obtaining
a password from the system administrator. clicking the "Start/Program/PCClient/"PCClient
UnInstall" menu item will display a
