Introduction:

The Main Console on the CSServer machine is used to configure the client profile and the server settings. Screen Captures of violations are stored in the Main Console per user. The screen captures include: the date of violation, the time of violation, the violating application and the violating word/phrase.

Screen captures are a visual record of violations whether browsing the Internet, writing sexually explicit e-mails, instant messaging or composing a document.

Main Console:

1. To view the main console (by machine name only) the service has to be running on the same domain.
2. It also has password validation support before displaying.
3. If the application is not properly installed or if network is down, the application prompts informing so.
4. For floating Main Console, the CSServer/Profile folder present on the Server has to be shared with proper user rights.
5. It has explorer like functions with the entire user list on the left pane and the corresponding user captures information on the right pane of the view with a thumbnail capture preview.
6. Clicking on any user in the left pane will display all his/her capture information in the right pane.
7. The capture list can be refreshed by using the 'F5' key or by using the toolbar or menu item.
8. The selected user profile can be configured by the toolbar or by the menu item.
9. The profile can be immediately reflected by selecting the menu "Configure-Apply" or "apply" toolbar item.
10. The Copy-Paste of the profile from one user to another user can be done.
11. The floating menu for user configuration and screen captures is provided by using the right mouse click and keyboard menu key.
12. The keyboard support for deleting the selected screen capture(s) info by DELETE and magnifying screen capture(s) by ENTER is supported.
13. Multiple selection and 'CTRL+A' for selecting all capture information is supported.
14. Magnified view of the screen capture can be viewed by double clicking on the capture information or thumbnail.
15. For multiple running main consoles, only one console can view a user profile and capture information.
16. CSDEFAULT user is a default user for editing the default profile that is implied to the users whose profile is still not created.

Configuration:

It allows the user to configure the operation mode and restriction level with the action for the violation caused.
Operation Mode:

1. Stealth Mode: It is an invisible surveillance-oriented operating mode. Cyber Sentinel displays no system tray icon or violation warning screen.
2. Active Mode: It is a deterrent-oriented operating mode. It is displayed as icon in the system stray on the client side as indication for engine running. It also displays warning screen on violation.

Actions:
1. Warn: Pops up a full screen dialog box displaying the warning message for a causing violation.
2. Capture: Takes a screen shot of the violating application.
3. Close: Closes the violating application

Built in Library contains the words necessary for filtering pornography. It has two different levels
1. Less restrictive: It’s recommended for older users.
2. More restrictive: It’s recommended for younger users.

Cyber Sentinel also provides Child Predator Library for protecting young children from online predators and pedophiles.

Grouping:
Each user/machine can be set up to have a different configuration. By clicking on group in the tool bar, a new group can be created, deleted or renamed. An individual user/machine can either be added or moved to a different group from this option as well. Once a group has been created, any user/machine can also be dragged and dropped into any group.
Reporting:
By clicking on Reports in the tool bar, a printable report can be created of the following:

1. The top 10 violators within the network.

2. The top 10 violations within the network.

3. The top 10 violations of a designated time.

4. Complete violations of a selected user/machine.

Library Management:

It allows the administrator to add his own defined restrictive word or disable any violating word.
Library restricting words can have two types:

1. Embedded: Here if the restricted word is a part of a whole word then to the user will be prompt as violating.
Ex. If 'Can' was embedded, then the word 'Canada' would trigger because 'Can' was contained inside 'Canada'.
2. Non-embedded: In this case whole word is taken into consideration and not a part of it.
Ex. If 'Can' was non-embedded, then the word 'Canada' would not trigger. It would trigger only if it sees the word 'Can' by itself.

The administrator can use this opportunity to keep a track of anyone using his credit card number too.

NOTE: Security Software Systems does not give away the word list for any built in libraries. However if you have a persistent problem with a word you can disable it the disable word list.

Internet Configuration:

Internet Configuration allows setting an Internet filter on the visiting Internet sites and list of services to block.
In Internet site filtering, the administrator can set a list of sites to allow or block for a user.

Internet Time management:

Internet time management allows configuring Internet access time. This feature does not stop users from dialing the Internet, it only disallows access to Internet services (i.e. a user dials in to the Internet, they connect fine, but when they go to check their mail, or search the web, they are denied access). The administrator can set the Internet surfing time for any user to avoid unnecessary network traffic during office hours.

NOTE: In America Online the user will still be able to use AOL, but will not have access to the web and other Internet services when the Internet is disabled due to time management.

Special Rights:

The administrator can set the time period during which a user can have special rights:

1. Disable: The engine will be disabled and the user will not be restricted from doing anything.
2. Close: When this right is granted the user can close the engine by clicking the option in the floating menu at the system tray.
3. Uninstall: Will grant the uninstallation rights to a user.

Password:

The administrator can set a new password for starting the main console using this dialog.
NOTE: This feature is available only on the machine which has server installed.
